WHY DO PEOPLE GIVE UP?

YOU NEED AN EMOTIONAL CHARGE FOR MOTIVATION TO WORK

Broadly speaking there are 2 main reasons why people give up although they had a clear goal and a will. You want something and you are sure that you want it. You know the way to go and get it but after you start seeking at it your burning desire fades and you stop. This is because there is no emotional charge. Love for example is the highest emotional charge that humans can have. When this emotion is at its peek, people can move mountains and achieve things that they never believe they could. This knowledge has been misused but it does not contradict the fact that it is a true observation. Emotions include fear, anger, etc… Link your goal to positive emotions. This is clearly expressed in the following quotation of Jules Payot:

„It is necessary, therefore, if we would weld an idea solidly and indestructibly to a desired action, that we should fuse them together by the heat of an emotion.“ Jules Payot

Once you link your goal to an emotion you have to start with small steps. The strength of your will will determine how effective you will be

THE STRENGTH OF WILL CAN BE BOOSTED WITH LITTLE ACTIONS

What you do regularly will some up to an achievement. You start by little. You don’t have to wait to be ready. You normally start with what you have. Your goal might be high but it is what you do each minute that makes up what you do in an hour. It is what you do each hour that makes up what you do in a day and it it what you do each day makes your week. Weeks make your month and months will make your year and so on.The progress thus can be exponential and that is good.

„In undertaking the conquest of self it is of the utmost importance to form strong bonds of habit between ideas and conduct.“ — Jules Payot
